Cameron-Hall Copper Medal

The AAG also awards the Cameron-Hall Copper Medal to the lead author for outstanding scientific publication in Geochemistry: Exploration, Environment, Analysis (GEEA). This annual medal will be presented to the deserving recipient at the AAG’s International Applied Geochemistry Symposia. The Cameron-Hall Copper Medal is named in honour of two prominent and highly published AAG members and past editors of GEEA, Eion Cameron and Gwendy Hall. Both are the only AAG Gold and Silver Medal awardees since the association formed nearly 50 years ago.

The first award of this new medal and for the year 2019, is the recent paper in GEEA (vol. 19, Part 4, p. 474-486) entitled ‘Identification of the expression of earthquake induced surface flooding by groundwater using detailed regolith mapping at the buried Atlántida Deposit, northern Chile” written by A.E. Brown, P.A. Winterburn, and T. Bissig. A formal presentation of the Cameron-Hall Copper Medal to the winners will be held at the 29th International Applied Geochemistry Symposium (IAGS) in October, 2021.
