Behnam Sadeghi

Dr. Behnam Sadeghi is is the Chief Executive Geoscientist and Head of Department at Erity Pty Ltd, Australia, where he leads the development and deployment of data-driven and AI-enabled solutions for mineral exploration and resource decision-making. Dr. Sadeghi holds a PhD in Geosciences from University of New South Wales (UNSW, Sydney) and has over 18 years of international experience across academia and industry, including work as a Principal Consultant Geologist. Previously, Behnam was a Research Fellow at the Australian Resource Research Centre (ARRC) within CSIRO, and a Fulbright Research Scholar at the Earth and Planets Laboratory (EPL) of the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, D.C., USA. Specializing in mineral exploration with a focus on critical minerals and the energy transition, his expertise spans geochemistry (including exploration, urban and environmental systems), mathematical geosciences (fractal and multifractal modeling, and compositional data analysis), geostatistics for simulation and spatial uncertainty quantification, and advanced GIS and geospatial data analytics. He is particularly recognized for integrating geological knowledge with data science and AI to deliver interpretable, decision-focused solutions. Dr. Sadeghi is a Fellow of the Association of Applied Geochemists (FAAG), the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (FAIG), and the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (FAusIMM). He is a lifetime member of the International Association for Mathematical Geosciences (IAMG) and a Registered Professional Geoscientist (RPGeo) in Information Geoscience with AIG.
